Caution throws Jr in for a win!

On a sniff of gas and a ton of courage, Dale Earnhardt Jr. ended his agonizing 76-race NASCAR Sprint Cup winless streak at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, under caution.

YAY for Jr!

Such a bittersweet moment, Dale Sr. would have been so proud.

He said it was special to end his 76-race winless streak on Father's Day, and there was a certain irony to that, too. Earnhardt, who died in a crash during the 2001 Daytona 500, finished his career with 76 Cup victories in addition to his seven championships.

Asked what a victory on Father's Day meant, Earnhardt said: "It's special — my daddy meant a lot to me. It means a lot to win on Father's Day and it's special for my sister. She's in tears on the phone. I know I can't tell my father 'Happy Father's Day, but I get to wish all fathers a happy day. I mean it."
