My beloved prophet has died. Gordon B. Hinckley passed away last night from age related causes at the age of 97. He was surrounded by his family and was reunited with his sweet wife who had passed away four years ago.

What's in a name?

How did I come up with the name for my blog?

First of all, one of my favorite shows "Grey's Anatomy" introduced me to the song "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane. LOVED the song!

Also to me my blog is a place where I can come and write my thoughts, feelings, happenings...and it's a place that I know, and a place that you know (obviously if you are reading this). I know blogs are public, but for some reason I feel like it is a safe place for me to vent. A place to go when I want to get away from it all. Like the picture at the top of my blog, a peaceful trail to walk on.

Doesn't seem to make sense? To me it does. But I have been known to be a little "off". LOL

I posted the lyrics. I think they are profound in a "lisa" kind of way.

Somewhere Only We Know

I walked across an empty land

I knew the pathway like the back of my hand

I felt the earth beneath my feet

Sat by the river and it made me complete

Oh simple thing where have you gone

I'm getting old and I need something to rely on

So tell me when you're gonna let me in

I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

I came across a fallen tree

I felt the branches of it looking at me

Is this the place we used to love?

Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?

Oh simple thing where have you gone

I'm getting old and I need something to rely on

So tell me when you're gonna let me in

I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

And if you have a minute why don't we go

Talk about it somewhere only we know?

This could be the end of everything

So why don't we goSomewhere only we know?

Oh simple thing where have you gone

I'm getting old and I need something to rely on

So tell me when you're gonna let me in

I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

So if you have a minute why don't we go

Talk about it somewhere only we know?

This could be the end of everything

So why don't we go

So why don't we go

This could be the end of everything

So why don't we go

Somewhere only we know?

Hello SPT!

Ok so I am admitting I have been a lurker of Lelly's Blog for some time now.

I am now coming out of lurkdom :)

And I know the "T" stands for Tuesday, not Thursday. Sue me ;)

I love the idea of a "word of the year".

My word of the year is going to be *drumroll* ~ "BUILD"~

~I am going to build myself, physically by exercising 6 days a week.

~I am going to build myself spiritually by praying and reading my scriptures on a daily basis.

~I am going to build myself mentally by reading uplifting books and by trying to challenge my 3 remaining braincells.

~I am going to build a strong family by leading them in the ways of the Lord.

~I am going to build a stronger marriage for my husband and I.

~I am going to build lasting and wonderful friendships.

Thanks for the idea Lelly!

Something new....

Today is my first edition of Works-For-Me Wednesday Backwards Edition, in which you ask a question of your readers instead of sharing a piece of advice. (I've never done the "forwards edition" either. ;) LOL)

My question is "What do you do with all of the muddy/snowy shoes and boots that everyone just throws in a big ole' pile when they come in the door?"

For one thing, it is a HUGE eyesore. For another, it leaves a big mess on the floor. HELP!

So far so good...

So I exercised 4 days in a row, WOOP! Today is my day off (Sunday) YAY!

So today was my first Sunday as 1st counselor in the Primary Presidency, and our first Sunday going to church in the early slot. Both turned out better than I thought.

First of all it wasn't too bad conducting primary. (I've done it before. I was also 1st C. in the PP years ago.) I don't know why I get so nervous, but I do. I know it will pass with time.

Secondly, church seemed to go by alot faster today than usual. So if that is a result of the time change, then..I LIKE IT!

I am proud of myself for doing something physical everyday (well 6 days a week) and this next week I am adding eating a little better too. PLUS I am going to pray at least EVERY NIGHT. Something that I haven't been in habit of in years sadly.

Here's to improving me! On the inside and the outside.

Ok another show I'm a little embarrassed to say I watch...

So this show is called "Crowned, The Mother of all Pageants".

"Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants" explores one of life's most emotional and volatile relationships as mothers and daughters from all walks of life compete together -- and against other mother/daughter teams -- in order to win a no-holds-barred beauty pageant"

I have to say it can get pretty nasty, or I guess I should say the Women/Girls can get nasty towards one another, even mothers and daughters get not so nice with each other. I guess I must have been bored on a Wednesday night..lol

My favorite teams that haven't been "de-sashed" are Moya and Jenileigh, and Gina and Hollis. Some of the others aren't too bad but I can't stand Angela and Tenia. They are both evil and mean. Also there is something about Laura and Patty that gets on my nerves. Maybe it is there bizarre smiles?

I can't stand ANY of the Judges either.

Anyways, I am caught up in it now and I have my DVR set to record the remaining episodes.

I am also looking forward to Rock of Love 2. Set to start Sunday the 13th on VH1. Can't get enought of Bret. Yum.
